Beginner Guitar Lessons
Beginner guitar lessons are a great way for someone interested in guitar to discover if it is something they would really like to pursue and invest more time, money and effort into.
Beginning lessons can be a fun and a rewarding experience as a new student can normally learn to play their first few chords quickly. Being able to play and sing along with a few easy songs is an exciting accomplishment and a great step in the right direction.

Starting With The Basics
To make the most out of just starting out, it is helpful to have at least a basic ability to read sheet music which is a fundamental to learning any type musical skill as learning the alphabet is to learning to read. Having the fundamentals of understanding notes in sheet music will make any experience more productive as more time and attention can be spent on technique rather than notes.
Tabulature
In addition to reading sheet music, beginning guitarist will also rely on tablature (tab) which is is the language of modern guitar and considered one of the greatest inventions in learning. And, the good news is that many consider tablature easier to learn than traditional music reading. However, beginning students should make every effort to learn both skills as they will then be prepared to read different types of musical notations and play a wider variety of music.
From The Basics To Lead Guitar
When starting out, either through an online course or with a personal instructor, the beginner will usually start with some or all of the following: how to properly hold a guitar, the correct name of the various parts of the guitar, scales, a few basic chords, and perhaps even a simple song or two. It is important in the first lesson to produce at least a simple tune to gain a sense of accomplishment and a sense of the potential for future lessons.
Beginning guitar instruction will also cover names of open strings, strumming patterns, additional cords, power chords, sharps and flats, fingerpicking patterns, string blending and much more. Each new lesson should include learning at least one new song each session to help the student add to their repertoire.
As lessons progress, the student will be introduced to the differences in blues guitar lessons, country guitar lessons, acoustic, electric, classical guitar, and depending on the teacher, may have opportunities for lead guitar lessons, and other advanced guitar lesson topics.
